How to Create Great Autumn photos Even if You Are Not A Professional

Fall is a popular time of year for many photographers who relish in the contrast so evident in scenery all around them. Even among themselves, leaves exist in an aura of multi-colored splendor.

But, you don’t have to be a professional photographer who has mastered the art of contrast and filters and Photoshop in order to take great Autumn pictures. Fall, because of the many bright colors it has, can remove many barriers between skilled and semi-skilled photographers.
A few fall tips

• In bright sun, place your back to the sun
• Bright sunshine equates to multiple shadows
• Remove focal point of your shot away from center

Many amateur photographers pull out their cameras on bright, sunny days. Cameras often are overlooked during the autumn season. Many fail to realize that the sometimes somber nature of the fall season can be captured beautifully on film. So, during the fall months, you definitely want to consider taking shots on overcast days.

When taking photographs in bright sunshine, always try to place your back to the sun, otherwise your camera will record a plethora of shadows that will dampen the vibrant colors you’re seeking to capture. Further, you want to shoot either in the early morning or just before sunset. The colors when the sun is going down can be bright, beautiful, and memorable. Special components of the fall season, such as fog and dew, can be photographed in the early morning hours.

Since you are most likely be to be taking nature shots for your Autumn pictures, you might consider applying the technique of not making the focal point of your scene appear in the middle of the shot. Many photos can be enhanced by moving the focal point of the shot slightly off to the side. Focal points are great, yet the overall impact of a photograph almost always is determined by a comprehensive view of the subject matter.
